On the night of the 22-23 September 1874 a Typhoon blew over Hongkong with a violence that is
without paralle" in the memory of any inhabitant of the Colony. 2.. That the Typhoon would be one of extraordinary violence was manifested before midnight; the under-signed therefore went to the charge room of the Central Station in ready to give.
